Experiences That Speak For Themselves

Beyond blessed and thankful that I answered the call to sit with mama Aya. I felt so at ease from the moment I said yes knowing the retreat was with you gals at the Playful Soul. I knew I would be in good hands with you and the shamans and that was certainly the case! I came for healing, release, and trusting myself and I left with so much more including a beautiful sisterhood and community that I didn’t even know my soul was searching for. Thank you!

The experience was amazing! TPS thought of every detail to make me feel welcomed, comfortable, and enjoy the retreat. The agenda was perfectly balanced with activities, downtime to reflect & relax, and time to interact with fellow attendees. There was inclusiveness, open mindedness, love, respect, kindness, authenticity, and holding space for each other. I made new friends and connections that will last for a long time.

Spiritual Preparation
Before Ceremony, we intentionally prepare our mind, body, and spirit through a dieta. Why? In our modern world, our bodies can become overloaded with foods high in salt, sugar, and caffeine, while our minds are filled with negative influences from news and social media. To fully receive the wisdom of the plant medicine, it’s essential to first clear these toxins through a required diet.
Your body is a vessel, and everything—energy, thoughts, food, and physical activity—leaves traces. The body absorbs elements from its environment, which can affect us physically and energetically, leading to blockages. Over time, negative energy from these influences can impact our well-being. That’s why it’s crucial to cleanse the body, creating a clear path for the plant medicine to work. To read more about the dieta, click here.
Safety in Ceremony
During your intake, you’ll review all medications (including over-the-counter) and supplements (herbal and vitamins) with our team. We are honored to work with a group of experienced and respected shamans who are available to answer any questions.
We always recommend consulting your personal doctor if you have any medical conditions and to get their advice on tapering medication. Please do not alter or stop taking medications or medically necessary supplements without first consulting your primary care doctor.
Certain medications and supplements can be contraindicated with ayahuasca, and interactions with pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter drugs, or herbs can be life-threatening. Others should be discontinued as they may interfere with the healers’ ability to read your energy field.
It’s important to discuss all medications and supplements with your doctor and inform us upon registration for your safety. If your medication changes before the retreat, please notify us.
Ceremony
For Ceremony, wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing made from natural fibers like cotton or linen. These fabrics are lightweight, breathable, and allow for easy movement, helping you stay grounded.
While it’s nice to dress up a bit, there’s no need for anything formal. Many choose white or light clothing. Keep it simple and practical, avoiding too many buttons or buckles for ease, especially when using the bathroom. A detailed packing list will be provided before the retreat.
Ayahuasca can heighten sensitivity to synthetic chemicals and fragrances, so please be mindful of scents for your own comfort and that of others.
We will observe noble silence during Ceremony to foster deep introspection, reverence, and a stronger connection to your inner experience.
